Author’s Information
Kimiya Yui was born in Nagano Prefecture in 1970. In July 2011, he completed basic training and was certified as a JAXA astronaut. He took off into space on a Soyuz spacecraft on July 23, 2015 (Japan time), and spent about 142 days in space as a crew member for the 44th/45th long-term mission to the International Space Station, returning to Earth on December 11 of the same year. Kimiyo Hayashi Graduated from the Department of English and American Literature, Faculty of Letters, Kobe University. After working as editor-in-chief of the Sankei Living Newspaper Company and the Japan Young Astronauts Club information magazine, he became a freelance writer in 2000. For about 20 years, he has been interviewing astronauts, conducting rocket launches at NASA, Russia, Japan, etc., and interviewing and writing about space-related facilities and related parties. . National Research and Development Agency Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) In 2003, the Institute of Space and Astronautical Science (ISAS), the National Aerospace Laboratory of Japan (NAL), and the National Space Development Agency of Japan (NASDA) were merged to form an organization that can carry out everything from basic research to development and utilization in the aerospace field.
