Abstract

Kobato-kun, an ordinary young man aspiring to live as a humble citizen, is the victim of a hit-and-run and is rushed to the hospital. When he regains consciousness in a daze, he learns that he has broken a bone in his right leg. The following day, after undergoing surgery, he is questioned by the police. Meanwhile, as he sleeps deeply, a note is left by his bedside. It’s from Osanai-san, a fellow aspirant of humble citizenship, and it reads, "I won’t forgive the culprit." Author’s Information

Debuted in 2001 after winning the 5th Kadokawa Gakuen Novel Award Encouragement Prize (Young Mystery & Horror Division) with "Hyouka". Known for a writing style that blends the charm of coming-of-age stories with the intrigue of mysteries, the author gained attention and established himself as a popular writer with works such as The Shoshimin Series, which is now made into a popular animation series "How to become Ordinary".
Yonezawa received the 64th Mystery Writers of Japan Award for Oreta Ryukotsu, in 2014 the 27th Yamamoto Shugoro Prize for Mangan, and the 12th Yamada Futaro Prize and the 166th Naoki Prize for Kokurojo.
