Author’s Information

Heisuke Kitazawa / Illustrator. Born in Yokohama. After living in the U.S. for 16 years, returned to Japan. Started his career as an illustrator. He is active in a wide range of fields in Japan and abroad, including book illustrations, advertisements, and packaging. His many picture books include “Hige ga nagasugi suru neko” (Kodansha) and “Ruccola no chisasasasashimaya san” (Hakusensha), and he has illustrated “Koharu to chiharu” (written by Kazufumi Shiraishi, Iwasaki Shoten). His collection of works includes “The Current: Works of Heisuke Kitazawa” (Genkosha).
Hiroshi Ando is a longtime professor at the University of Tokyo, where he is currently professor emeritus. He specializes in modern Japanese novels, with a focus on Osamu Dazai. D. in Literature. Awards received include the Japan Academy Prize (2024). His publications include “Making ‘I’ - An Attempt at Modern Fiction” (Iwanami Shinsho, 2015), “A History of Japanese Modern Fiction” (New Edition, Chuko Sensho, 2020), and “Dazai Osamu Ron” (University of Tokyo Press, 2021).
