Abstract

The Ultimate Love Story of a Mother Dinosaur Who Raises the Egg of Her Natural Enemy
A mother dinosaur, a herbivorous sauropod, loses her mate and children. One day, she discovers an orphaned Tyrannosaurus egg. Despite knowing it belongs to a carnivorous species—her natural enemy—she names the hatchling Tiran and decides to raise it as her own. Bound by deep love beyond species differences, the two live happily together. However, a massive meteorite strikes the Earth, triggering a catastrophic environmental shift. As ecosystems collapse and food sources dwindle, herbivorous dinosaurs fall one by one. Tiran's mother is no exception. Overcome with sorrow, Tiran fiercely protects her lifeless body from scavenging predators. Day after day, he fights to keep them at bay, but exhaustion eventually takes its toll. At last, Tiran lies down beside his mother and, with a soft smile, whispers, "Now, I can finally rest..." As snow falls silently, it blankets the two figures in an eternal embrace.

Message from the Author Yuka Murayama
"We tell children things like 'Dreams always come true' or 'Justice will always prevail,' even though we’ve long since realized they’re not always true. The world isn’t that simple. Yet, I believe that each person must hold onto at least one thing in their heart—something they would protect with their life. I wrote this small story not only for children but also for adults who, by keeping their childlike hearts, have been hurt by the world around them."
