Author’s Information
Hisao Ando
Professor Emeritus at Ibaraki University (Faculty of Science). After graduating from the Department of Geology (currently Earth Sciences) at Waseda University's School of Education, he obtained his Doctorate in Science from the Graduate School of Science at the University of Tokyo, specializing in geology, sedimentology, and paleontology. Following his position as an assistant at Waseda University, he served for 30 years in the Earth Environmental Science Course at the Faculty of Science, Ibaraki University, before assuming his current position. He has authored numerous papers on geology and paleontology. His publications include contributions to the Encyclopedia of Paleontology (co-authored, Heibonsha) and supervision of A Journey Through 4.6 Billion Years of Earth (Asahi Shimbun Publishing).
Ken Tsuchiya
Science writer and representative of Office Geopaleont. He obtained his Master’s degree in Science, specializing in geology and paleontology, from the Graduate School of Kanazawa University. After working as an editorial journalist and deputy editor-in-chief for the science magazine Newton, he took on his current role. In 2019, he was awarded the Contribution Award by the Palaeontological Society of Japan. He is particularly known for his numerous books on paleontology, including his recent work, Illustrated Encyclopedia of Ancient Life (Gijutsu-Hyoronsha).
