Abstract

The book compares Western and Japanese architectural design from nine themes, including "pillars," "windows," "walls," "roofs," "towers," "halls," "gardens," "towns," and "architecture," and explores the messages contained within them. It draws on knowledge gained from many years of research to depict various aspects of how architecture has been conceived, constructed, and understood.
