Abstract

This is the first collection of works by Kiborino Konno, a former civil servant and woodcarving artist who has been creating buzz on Twitter! Kiborino Konno has been attracting attention in various media outlets for his unique woodcarving and painting techniques that allow him to realistically express a variety of things, from melting cheese and liquids to transparent vinyl. This book features all of his popular works to date, and thoroughly dissects the process by which each piece is transformed from ordinary "wood" into something "amazing." In addition to introducing his production site and tools, this large volume also includes an in-depth interview about what prompted him to make the switch from civil servant to woodcarving artist, as well as a conversation with icing cookie artist Mannatanuki!
