Abstract

Are familiar garden plants poisonous? Poisonous plants that both humans and pets should be careful of. To help people and pets enjoy safer and more fulfilling gardening activities with accurate information and knowledge about poisonous plants. This is an expanded and revised version of the well-received "Illustrated Guide to Poisonous Garden Plants for People and Pets" (published in 2015), which was the first in Japan to deal with information on plants that are poisonous to garden plants and even pets (dogs and cats). The information has been updated based on the latest classification system, and about 40 new plants have been added. This book aims to select and compile poisonous and harmful plants that are cultivated in the vicinity of people, to help not only ordinary households and farmers, but also educational institutions and medical professionals recognize the dangers of plants that are close to them, and to provide accurate information and knowledge rather than eliminating these plants, thereby enabling people to enjoy safer and more fulfilling gardening activities and ornamental plants.
