Author’s Information
Ken Nagata/Director of Yokohama City Dementia Disease Medical Center. Graduated from Hirosaki University School of Medicine in 1978. After working as a neurology researcher at the University of Colorado and as head of the neurology research department at the Akita Prefectural Cerebrovascular Research Center, he has held his current position since 2020. His areas of expertise are dementia, stroke, neuropsychology, and diagnostic imaging. His publications include "Habits of people who are less likely to develop dementia" (Medical Care Services) and "A book to read if you think your family member has dementia" (Gakken), among many others.
Junko Owatari/Nakamurakai Medical Corporation Asahina Nursing Home for the Elderly. Dementia Care Recreation Practice Research Group. He holds qualifications as a certified care worker, social worker, care manager, advanced dementia care specialist, care prevention instructor, and care teacher. While working as a care worker, he also serves as a training instructor on recreation, dementia, and communication in various parts of Japan as a practitioner in the field of care. In 2014, he obtained an activity director qualification from Portland Community College in Oregon, USA.
Satoshi Kawabata/Physiotherapist. Representative of Re-Gaku Co., Ltd. Based in Kumamoto Prefecture, he works on dementia prevention and dementia care in hospitals and facilities. With his wide-ranging experience as the development manager of a local government dementia prevention model program, he gives more than 200 lectures a year. In 2017, he created the new certification "Brain Manager" to support people with dementia and their families. His books include "Understanding it through manga! The world seen by people with dementia" (Bunkyosha).
