Abstract

A great number of characters appear in Tezuka Osamu's works. Naturally, each work has a protagonist and supporting characters, but Tezuka likened the characters he created to actors and decided the roles for each work. Based on the idea of Hollywood's "star system," a protagonist in one work may appear as an antagonist or supporting character in another. This book introduces famous scenes from Tezuka's representative works along with character sheets. Representative characters are introduced in the style of a talent directory with a list of "appearances." In addition, there is a corner where you can see all the characters that appeared in his major works from his early period to his later years that are not included in the star system, and there are many valuable materials that are being released for the first time, such as mascot characters that Tezuka created for companies and organizations. And the only work named after the famous supporting character "Higeoyaji" (real name: Ban Shunsaku), who appeared in many works, "Ban Shunsaku Makaritooru" is published in its entirety. It is the only work to bear the name of the famous supporting character "Higeoyaji" (real name: Ban Shunsaku), who appeared in many works, and was said to be a phantom work that was only included in a book. In addition, the book contains a wealth of valuable illustrations that can't be found anywhere else, including unpublished manuscripts and storyboards.
