Abstract

Yanai Michihiko is the publisher and editor-in-chief of "Monthly Kaze to Rock", a professor in the Design Department of the Tokyo University of the Arts, and a creative director who has produced numerous advertisements. "Clouds and Rainbows: The People and Words I Met" is a popular commercial photo series that uses Yanai's photographs and words to record his interactions with 55 people he met through his work, including actors (Ishihara Satomi, Yoshine Kyoko, Yasuda Ken, and others), musicians (Fukuyama Masaharu, Sada Masashi, Rekishi, and others), photographers (Shinobu Shinoyama, Kurigami Kazumi, Takimoto Mikiya, and others), art directors (Kasai Kaoru, Sato Taku, Hattori Kazunari, and others), artists (Hibino Katsuhiko), and rakugo performer (Tatekawa Shinosuke). In the book, Yanai will introduce detailed information such as anecdotes from the shoot and visuals of the work that were created at that time. In addition to a long interview with Yanai Michihiko, the magazine also features a special conversation between Yanai and people with close ties to him (Yoshitaka Yuriko and Miyazaki Aoi).
