The late Otsuka Yasuo was a driving force in Japanese commercial animation since its early days as an animator, and tirelessly mentored the next generation of animation directors. This book condenses his precious "posthumous manuscripts," from his masterpieces as animation director on "Lupin the Third" and illustrations of military vehicles, to manuscripts for magazine serials and out-of-print books, and even unpublished proposals. Seiji Kanae, a longtime friend, was in charge of editing and structuring. The book's charming illustrations and witty narration reveal the author's life, who described himself as a "hobbyist," and his attitude toward his work. A must-have for all fans.
