Abstract
Shinichi Suzuki, an animation artist, started his career as an animator while interacting with young manga artists at Tokiwa-so, and is still working on new works at the age of 90. This book is an essay by Suzuki, who is also known as the model for "Koike-san" in Fujiko Fujio's works, in which he talks about his own activities and his encounters and interactions with his peers. The book contains valuable stories from a leading figure in the animation world, such as the three benefactors who had a major influence on Suzuki as an animator: Osamu Tezuka, Ryuichi Yokoyama, and Isuke Nakamura; his time at Otogi Pro, when he honed his animation skills through trial and error from an amateur state; and the hilarious events when he founded the animation production company Studio Zero with his fellow Tokiwa-so students Fujiko Fujio, Shotaro Ishinomori, Fujio Akatsuka, and Jiro Tsunoda. The book also contains valuable photos and documents. It also contains the secret story of how Suzuki became "Koike-san."
