Author’s Information
Mikako Nagata
Born in Mie Prefecture, currently living in Tokyo. A writer and children's author who loves monsters and ghost stories. After seeing something resembling a kappa in a forest park in his hometown, he became fascinated with monsters and began studying folklore. In 2000, he won the Fukushima Masami Memorial Science Fiction Children's Story Award for "Space Da Komichère" (Iwasaki Shoten). His books include "Encyclopedia of Japanese Monsters and Urban Legends" and "Encyclopedia of Monsters, Mysterious People, and Mysterious Incidents from Around the World" (both published by Oizumi Shoten), and he has also supervised and written "Mysterious and Fun! Illustrated Encyclopedia of Monsters and Ghosts" (Ikeda Shoten) and "Illustrated Encyclopedia of Japanese Monsters" (Shinsei Publishing).
