Kaito Tachibana, an introverted high school student with no friends, has the ability to "see the fish that live in people's hearts." Since he can read people's feelings and personalities through their fish, he has difficulties with interpersonal relationships.However, through a series of unexpected events, he becomes friends with his classmate, Sumika Sakuraba. Kaito gradually becomes attracted to her as a friend. Then, a giant whale appears before the two of them, devouring fish. Sumika's fish is also targeted, and Kaito wants to protect it, but just as he can, he loses his power. They devise a plan to stop the whale on the night of the summer festival. Will Kaito be able to protect Sumika and the fish?

Born in Hokkaido in 1995. Made her debut with "Aquarium World" (Asuka Shinsha), which was shortlisted for the Tokyo Nakano Monogatari 2022 Literature Award. Her favorite fish is the Napoleon fish.
