Abstract

The 46th installment of the popular series “Otome no Hondana” is a collaboration between literary master Osamu Dazai and illustrator Jose Shimazaki! This enchanting book can be enjoyed both as a novel and an art book. All illustrations are newly drawn.

Author’s Information

Born in Aomori Prefecture in 1909. Novelist. In 1935, his work “Gyakkou” (Backward) won second place in the first Akutagawa Prize, and the following year, he published his first collection of works, “Ban'nen” (Late Years). He became a popular writer with works such as ‘Shouyou’ (Sunset), but committed suicide by drowning in the Tamagawa Canal, leaving behind “Ningen Shikkaku” (No Longer Human). In the “Maiden's Bookshelf” series, in addition to this work, there are “Saru-ga-shima,” “Kakkomi Sōe,” “Matsu,” “Gyofuku-ki,” “Hana-zakura to Madōki,” and “Joshu.” / An illustrator residing in Tokyo. Visiting professor at Kyoto University of the Arts. After working at a design firm for four years as a graphic designer, he left the company and began working as a freelancer. His works include “The Book to Help You Draw the Pictures You Want to Draw” and “The Long Season.”
