Born in Hyogo Prefecture. After graduating from Waseda University, she earned a Master’s in Film and TV Production from Loyola Marymount University. She debuted with Snow Flower, winner of the 3rd Yahoo! JAPAN Literary Award, and gained wide acclaim with Dark Maidens, later adapted into a film. Her works include Holy Mother, Absolute Justice, Marriage Hunting Addict, and My Son’s Boyfriend.
