A tragedy strikes during a freshman welcome party of a prestigious university club. A new student, Moroi, dies of acute alcohol poisoning. To protect themselves, the participating members decide to conceal the true cause of death.

A year later, when the memory of the incident has begun to fade, an invitation arrives for Moroi’s first death anniversary memorial. Tormented by guilt, the members decide to attend in order to bring closure. Little did they know that hell itself was waiting for them there…

Born in Tokyo in 1961. After graduating from the Faculty of Letters at Seikei University, he joined a publishing company.
In 2001, he made his debut by winning the 2nd Horror Suspense Award with Rika.
His works include Toshishita no Otoko no Ko (The Younger Boy), Yūkai (Kidnapping), 1981 no Swan Song (Swan Song, 1981), Aganai (Atonement), Honō no Tō (The Tower of Flames), Kesennuma Miracle Girl, Swim! Swim! Swim!, and 7 Days, as well as the series Kichijōji Tantei Monogatari (Kichijoji Detective Story) and Minami Aoyama Kottōdōri Tanteisha (Minami Aoyama Antique Street Detective Agency).
