Abstract

A moving family novel by the author of the bestselling book, Hito.
Hibino Tofu Shop is a humble family-owned business in a quiet Tokyo neighborhood. After the death of the owner, Kiyomichi, the Hibino family comes together to keep the business running despite their struggles.
Grandmother Hatsu wishes to close the shop. Sakiko hopes to step into her late husband’s shoes to keep the business afloat. And then there is Reiya, who is unsure about his own future or that of the shop. Watching over them—with a special someone—is the family cat, Fuku.
Set in a tofu shop whose name means "daily tofu," this moving story brings a family together through dedication and resolve.
