Abstract
The first reissue in the series, this volume compiles selected short stories alongside previously unreleased works and newly drawn material. The stories explore themes of sexuality, emotional intimacy, and the psychological conflicts and misalignments between men and women. Highlights include a dramatic monologue in which a woman visits the home of a man she once abandoned to confess her regrets, and a delicate coming-of-age tale portraying the inner turmoil and eventual release of a girl who has stopped attending school.
Author’s Information
Fumi Sonoyama gained recognition in the late 1990s for her distinctive sensibility and art style. Blending shōjo aesthetics with emotional tension, desire, and inner conflict, her works—often presented in short story collections—demonstrate mature psychological insight. Although she has been largely inactive in recent years, her remarkable talent remains worth rediscovering. Often referred to as a “phantom artist,” she continues to be remembered as a significant figure in contemporary manga.
