Abstract

A reissued second collection of short stories by the uniquely talented manga artist Fumi Sonoyama, who was active in the late 1990s. With keen emotional sensitivity and confident artistic skill, she depicts the raw, unfiltered emotions of human beings.

In addition to a selection of short stories, this volume also includes three works published in book form for the first time, along with ten pages of newly drawn content.

Fumi Sonoyama gained recognition in the late 1990s for her distinctive sensibility and art style. Blending shōjo aesthetics with emotional tension, desire, and inner conflict, her works—often presented in short story collections—demonstrate mature psychological insight. Although she has been largely inactive in recent years, her remarkable talent remains worth rediscovering. Often referred to as a “phantom artist,” she continues to be remembered as a significant figure in contemporary manga.
