Author’s Information
After working at a publishing company, he became a freelancer, planning and editing children's books, primarily related to natural science. His representative works include "The Mysteries of the Body," "The Mysteries of the Body: Mysteries of Injuries and Diseases," "Makino Tomitaro's Plant Tales" (Sekai Bunka Publishing), "Picture Book of Plankton" and "Picture Book of Shellfish" (Gijutsu Hyoronsha). He is also a painter, active in a wide range of fields, including illustration and stage design. He has also been involved in art direction and production for various art galleries and museums. His published works include "The Mysteries of the Body," "The Mysteries of the Body: Mysteries of Injuries and Diseases," "The Mysteries of Animals," and "My First Japanese Map Picture Book" (all published by Sekai Bunka Publishing). He is a Doctor of Medicine and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Kokikai Medical Corporation. He completed his doctoral studies at the University of Tokyo Graduate School of Medicine, is an instructor at the Institute of Medical Science, University of Tokyo, and a researcher at Harvard Medical School. He specializes in hematology and allergology. His research interests include "Basic Research and Clinical Applications of Oxygen Sensors and Hypoxic Response Systems."
