Abstract

A grandpa receives a letter from a friend. His friend is the captain of a large ship. To meet his friend for the first time in five years, the grandpa decides to go to the port with ten ghosts and a puppy. The big ship has many facilities, which surprises the ghosts. They soon start playing hide-and-seek on the ship. Can the puppy find the ghost?

Born in Fukuoka Prefecture in 1940. Picture book author and artist. His works include the "Big Octopus Maston" series (Gyosei), "Let's Play, Mummy" and "Knock and Knock" (PHP Institute), "A Walk with Dad" and "Tsutomu and the Magic Bus" (Kyoiku Gageki), "The Little Bear and the Two Monsters" (Doshinsha), and the "Ten Ghosts" series (Hikari no Kuni). He won the Erba Award at the Bologna Children's Book Fair for "The Ghost and the Children's King" (PHP Institute), and the 29th Hirosuke Fairy Tale Award for "Tsutomu and the Cat's Day Fairy" (Komine Shoten).
