Abstract

An old man hits his back and is taken away in an ambulance. The ghosts, worried, go to the hospital, but end up accidentally getting mixed up with the children's health checkup. "Do ghosts have teeth?" "What do they usually eat?" "What kind of sound does a ghost make?" The children are fascinated by the ghost's health checkup. The ghosts get to meet the grandpa and help out the nurses. These cute and kind ghosts are full of energy and activity.

Born in Fukuoka Prefecture in 1940. Picture book author and artist. His works include the "Big Octopus Maston" series (Gyosei), "Let's Play, Mummy" and "Knock and Knock" (PHP Institute), "Stroll with Dad" and "Tsutomu and the Magic Bus" (Kyoiku Gageki), "The Little Bear and the Two Monsters" (Doshinsha), and the "10 Ghosts" series (Hikari no Kuni). He won the Erba Award at the Bologna Children's Book Fair for "The Ghost and the Children's King" (PHP Institute), and the 29th Hirosuke Fairy Tale Award for "Tsutomu and the Cat's Day Fairy" (Komine Shoten).
