Abstract

A baby elephant who has always lived in a circus wants to run around freely in a wide grassy field! A circus comes to the town where ten ghosts and a grandpa live. After seeing a flyer, the ghosts become more and more eager to go to the circus. Then, that night, a baby elephant who lives in the circus comes to the house where the ghosts and grandpa live... A story that shines with the kindness of the ten ghosts and their grandfather.

Born in Fukuoka Prefecture in 1940. Picture book author and artist. His works include the "Big Octopus Maston" series (Gyosei), "Let's Play, Mummy" and "Knock and Knock" (PHP Institute), "A Walk with Dad" and "Tsutomu and the Magic Bus" (Kyoiku Gageki), "The Little Bear and the Two Monsters" (Doshinsha), and the "10 Ghosts" series (Hikari no Kuni). He won the Elba Award at the Bologna Children's Book Fair for "The Ghost and the Children's King" (PHP Institute), and the 29th Hirosuke Fairy Tale Award for "Tsutomu and the Cat's Day Fairy" (Komine Shoten).
