Abstract

This book introduces a variety of creations, from everyday hair accessories and brooches with colorful flower motifs such as tulips, roses, morning glories, hydrangeas, cosmos, and poinsettias, to full-scale hair ornaments for Shichi-Go-San and Coming-of-Age ceremonies. All instructions are illustrated with photographs. Even beginners can easily get started, as the creations are made using readily available fabrics such as crepe, cotton, and linen, along with wood glue.

Fascinated by the mysterious shapes that can be created from square pieces of fabric, she began making tsumami zaiku. Since 2011, she has exhibited at events, held workshops, and taught classes under the name Compass.
