Abstract
Arai Naoto, a sign language interpreter, works as a community interpreter and also interprets for deaf suspects in court and at the police station. He teaches sign language to a boy Eichi, who has selective mutism so he can express himself, and the boy progresses rapidly. One day, Eichi begins to sign about a murder case. The scene where an NPO worker was murdered was right in front of the boy's home. Will the boy's sign language testimony be accepted? This is the long-awaited second book in the series, following "Deaf Voice: Courtroom Sign Language Interpreter" which depicts a sign language interpreter struggling between deaf and hearing people and made into a Emmy Award nominated TV drama.
