Abstract
A heartwarming and humorous family-essay collection by manga artist. With sharp insight into the subtle distance many young women feel toward their families, Kobayashi portrays her own household with warmth and wit.
From a traditional yet unexpectedly sentimental father to a gentle mother with a bold streak, and the memorable “Kobayashi Sisters”—including elder sister Marina—the book captures the charm of a family that feels both nostalgic and refreshingly real. Also included are standout episodes such as the Special Prize–winning “How My Parents Met” from the LINE Manga Contest and the popular story of taking family photos again as adults.
Brimming with affectionate humor that turns family frustrations into a lighthearted “Oh well, it’s fine!”, this collection offers a delightful reminder of how endearing family can be.
