Abstract
A leading neuroscientist reveals the truth about the brain. Interpersonal relationships, stress, aging... This book offers tips for keeping moving forward even in the most discouraging situations, drawing on the latest brain research from around the world.
It's actually a little silly, but lovable. The brain's incredible regenerative power and flexibility...
Discover surprising traits, such as being extremely bad at subtraction and adding when in a pinch; gazing at each other's eyes develops the brain; being unable to remember proper nouns is proof that the brain is working; why people believe and spread fake news; watching videos for more than three and a half hours a day reduces verbal memory; commonalities between "healthy, long-lived brains"; internal inflammation reduces cognitive function; children cannot understand "other minds" until age six; and Elon Musk's involvement.
The book explores the brain's amazing functions, flexibility, and resilience through cutting-edge research and unique anecdotes, including technology to control smartphones with thought and the creation of artificial brains.
It also introduces behavioral habits to help you withstand stress and aging. Fun to read and useful!
