Abstract
“Our clinic does not offer painkillers or medicated patches.”
That is the clear stance of an orthopedic doctor who recommends a different approach to relieving pain: warming the body. Instead of using cooling patches on painful areas, he suggests disposable heat packs, as well as warming the body from the inside with hot foods. This book introduces eye‑opening self‑care methods for easing pain through warmth.
Author’s Information
He is the director of Sakai Clinic (Wakayama City, Wakayama Prefecture).
He was born in Kurayoshi City, Tottori Prefecture in 1949. With a strong interest in pain, after graduating from Osaka University School of Medicine, he worked as an orthopedic surgeon at a hospital in Osaka Prefecture.
However, as he gained experience as an orthopedic surgeon, he began to have strong doubts about modern Western medicine, and continues to search for the true cause and treatment of pain.
After retiring from the municipal hospital where he worked, he encountered a variety of medical treatments and manual therapies, and realized that the essence of pain lies not in abnormalities in "form" but in "function."
Currently, at Sakai Clinic (opened in 1999), he practices medicine that emphasizes lifestyle and energy in order to improve "function" and cure pain.
