Abstract
GAFAM, NVIDIA, LVMH, Uber, Accenture, ZOZO... What is the key to their shared innovation?
It's not invention, nor is it simple imitation.
Success or failure is determined by "where and what you bring to the table."
The author, a front-line venture capitalist, systematizes the mechanisms hidden in outstanding businesses.
Useful for businesspeople in their everyday lives!
◆ The extremely simple and cold-hearted principles hidden behind capitalist success.
Innovation is believed to be the result of "creativity"—the desire to solve social issues, innovative ideas, technical skills, and strong leadership. However, businesses that create value and address social issues are less likely to be evaluated in a capitalist context.
Meanwhile, an analysis of the mega-businesses that have achieved great success, such as GAFAM, NVIDIA, Uber, Accenture, and LVMH, reveals a common mechanism of "value transfer." In fact, Timee cleverly transfers spare time, Facebook the social graph, Microsoft licenses, and NVIDIA the results of research.
◆ Victory hinges on discerning “where to source what.”
Value transfer is not a simple framework of invention, imitation, or scaling. It is a mechanism that continuously generates profit by moving resources undervalued in one ecosystem to another ecosystem where they are highly valued. The objects of transfer are not limited to physical resources; they also include labour, networks, data, and intellectual property. This book introduces the fundamental concept of value transfer, analyses diverse case studies, and outlines methods for its application.
◆Practical wisdom revealed from the front lines of venture capital.
Want to understand the success factors of well-known businesses? How should we address issues that cannot be solved with conventional approaches? What should we do to create a new business? This book answers these questions and concerns. The author, who has been active on the front lines of business creation as a venture capitalist, provides knowledge that businesspeople can use in their daily lives.
