Abstract

This book is written by Tsumugi Koubou, an amamitomo (crocheted doll) artist known for her knitted dolls, which have a soothing, simple texture and a look that makes you feel like you have your hands in your pockets. The book features expressive dolls and animals, adapted from traditional Swedish doll knitting techniques. It also includes detailed photo explanations so that even beginners can easily try it.

Author’s Information

Swedish doll artist, mental health social worker, certified psychologist, and mother of two. She has loved crafts and needlework since childhood, and first tried knitting when she was in elementary school. She resumed knitting when she became pregnant with her child. She began her social media activities in 2017. Currently, she is captivated by the simplicity of Swedish dolls and creates original works. She exhibits her works at various events and on social media under the name Tsumugi Koubou.
