Abstract

On a snowy evening, a fox walks alone, sending a bell to his friend. A foxpecker runs away from the fox, and a snow rabbit practices. From beneath the piled-up snow, you hear... "Oh, it's the bear's sleep." This beautiful picture book by Hiroshi Abe will take you into the snowy forest at night.

Author’s Information

Born in Hokkaido in 1948. Former zookeeper at Asahiyama Zoo in Asahikawa City. Utilizing his experience at the zoo, he has created many picture books. He has won the Kodansha Publishing Culture Prize Picture Book Award, the Shogakukan Children's Publishing Culture Award, and the Akai Tori Illustration Award, among others. His many works include "It's a Wonderful Summer Day" (written by Shinzawa Toshihiko) and "Kuma-kun" (written by Ninomiya Yukiko).
