Author’s Information

Born in Niigata Prefecture in 1951, she is an origami artist living in the mountains of Nagano Prefecture. A pioneer of modular origami, she also creates patented industrial products such as "origami cups." Her original works are highly acclaimed overseas, and she has been invited to exhibitions in France, Austria, and the UK, including a solo exhibition at the Bauhaus in Germany in 2004. In Japan, she has held solo exhibitions at the Toyoshina Museum of Modern Art in Azumino City and the Yamazaki Mazak Museum of Art, and has participated in the Northern Alps International Art Festival 2024 and the Echigo-Tsumari Art Triennale. She has authored over 100 books, including translations. In addition to practical books on origami techniques, her works include the origami design collection "SPIRAL" (VIERECK VERLAG / 2012) and the photo collection of her works "TOMOKO FUSE" (Nuinui / 2018).
