Abstract

What is the fate of a "kind yet heartless world where no one helps you grow"?

We have become accustomed to a "society that nurtures through praise," and have become truly bad at scolding and being scolded.

However, what awaits us in the future is a cruel society where those who cannot motivate themselves will be left behind. It is a society where the gap between those who are content with the status quo because they are not scolded and those who strive to improve themselves will grow without us even realizing it.

Those who have not made the habit of consciously developing their own abilities will not be able to grow themselves. The skills that will be especially necessary for this will be resilience and metacognition. No matter how cornered you are, you will need the ability to pick yourself up, and the ability to understand your position in the world and be aware of what you should do.
