Abstract

Before you worry about your lack of ability or your aversion to multitasking, it's important to understand its true nature.

Failure isn't due to a lack of ability or dexterity. The way you "handle" and "switch" between tasks changes how burdensome they feel.

- You can't come up with good ideas
- It takes a long time to start
- You get easily distracted and can't concentrate
- You just don't feel motivated

... Behind these difficulties lies "multitasking."

We tend to focus on "getting the task in front of us." Some may worry, "I want to do it a little better" or "I want to respond faster." But what's more important in daily work is how to "use" and "maintain" your energy and motivation without depleting them.

"Things to do" continue today and tomorrow. So, how do we overcome this? This book, from the perspective of an academic discipline that continuously studies "work styles," explores ways to face multitasking without being overwhelmed.
