Abstract

[Recommended for elementary school students in grades 3-4!] ・Perfect for summer vacation book reports! ・The protagonist, who lacks self-confidence and has trouble communicating with his parents, changes through an "encounter" ・The theme is "believing in your own potential" -------------------------------------------- On the day of the third-grade closing ceremony, the shy Shohei makes a friend who is a blind old man many decades older than him. Shohei, who has no grandfather, affectionately calls this old man "Grandpa." Shohei struggles to speak properly because he stumbles over his words, he is bullied at school, and he is estranged from his mother, his only remaining relative, and unable to communicate properly. Grandpa gently guides Shohei towards resolving his various problems with fun conversation, his favorite poems, and his love for nature, as if melting ice. A story of friendship and growth that transcends age between Grandpa and Shohei. ■A new work by Ariake Honda, author of "The Mysterious Diary Where Wishes Come True"! ■From the blurb: The world seen with the heart is so vast. My blind grandfather taught me that I have incredible potential.
