Abstract

"I want to hear more from you!"—What are the small techniques that make people think that?

There are countless books on communication skills from the speaker's perspective: speech techniques, presentation tips, ways to speak persuasively, and so on. Certainly, the knowledge and techniques that these books offer each have their own value. However, isn't a more fundamental perspective needed for true "communication"?

That is the perspective from the listener's perspective.

Nowadays, with AI, presentation materials and speech scripts can be prepared efficiently. However, if the other person doesn't have the "ears to listen," your thoughts and true intentions will not reach them.

"Why does this person's speech resonate with me?"
"Why do this person's words open people's hearts?"

In this book, the author, a professional transcriptionist, summarizes the essence of "communicative" speaking that he has seen through the process of converting countless "voices" into text, from three perspectives: how to adjust your "voice" and "pauses," how to choose words that convey meaning, and how to change your explanation based on the other person's response. This book explains practical techniques for getting the listener to open up, using concrete examples of interactions.
