Abstract

Hideki Tahara was happily married when he received a visitor at his office. Hideki shuddered at the message from the junior colleague who took it. It was the name of his daughter, Chisa, who was about to be born and whom he was not supposed to tell anyone about. In front of Hideki's shivering eyes, the junior colleague collapses with blood pouring from his arms and is taken to the hospital. A junior colleague is exhausted after being hospitalized for an unexplained injury. Hideki continues to receive suspicious phone calls and e-mails, and he slowly begins to feel anxious and scared. Author’s Information

Ichi Sawamura (1979–) was born in Osaka, lives in Tokyo. He became a fan of ghost stories and tales of horror at a young age. He won the 22nd Japan Horror Story Grand Prize in 2015 and made his literary debut with this novel "Bogiwan ga, kuru (Bogiwan Is Coming)." In 2017 his "Zunome no Ningyo (Zunome Doll)" was shortlisted for the Yamamoto Shugoro Prize. Higa shimai series also includes, "Nadoraki no Kubi (The head of Nadoraki)" which contains the winner of the 72nd Mystery Writers Association Award in the short story category, "Shishiriba no Ie (The House of Shishiriba), and "Zenshu no Ashioto (The footsteps of Zenshu)."
