Abstract

"I found it! That's my Lord Yoshinaka!"
In the early summer of the 5th year of Keicho (1600 A.D.), after the death of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, the conflict between Ishida Mitsunari and Tokugawa Ieyasu was deepening. In the early summer of the 5th year of Keicho (1600 A.D.), Himari, the daughter of a horse-servant clan in Kiso, Shinshu, met Shimazu Toyohisa, a fierce general of the western part of Japan, in the town of Fushimi. Himari, who admires Yoshinaka Kiso of the Minamoto clan and Gozen Tomoe, wishes to become an officer, bringing back the famous horse she raised. Himari is favored by Kameju, the daughter of Ryubaku, the head of Shimazu's main family, and is allowed to work at Shimazu's mansion in Kamigata as a horse boy. Himari is very excited, but is caught up in the world's rapidly changing circumstances.
Ishida Mitsunari finally raises his troops, determined not to allow Tokugawa Ieyasu's tyranny to continue. Unable to get help from Satsuma, Shimazu Koreshin (Yoshihiro) is left alone in Kamigata with a small army, and after much anguish, decides to join Sansei's western army. Toyohisa is determined to help his beloved uncle Koreshin.
Toyohisa's wife, his sisters, the "Princess of Shimazu" Kameju, who controls the fate of the family, and Himari. This is the first volume of a historical novel about the Battle of Sekigahara and the subsequent fate of the women who adore Toyohisa.
