Following annas Lettering Embroidery and annas Small Embroidery Designs (New Edition), comes a new book from the popular embroidery artist annas. This title is her first embroidery book of Japanese designs and includes familiar motifs from the charming world of modern Japanese culture: from events throughout the year such as Hinamatsuri (the Doll Festival) and New Year, to traditional Japanese patterns, zodiac signs and sweets, and even stories such as “Kaguya Hime” (“The Moon Princess”) and “Tsuru no Ongaeshi” (“The Crane Maiden”).

Embroidery Artist
Since leaving her career as a kindergarten teacher to become an embroidery artist, Anna Kawabata has authored numerous books, including annas Small Embroidery Designs (New Edition), annas Japanese Embroidery (both from Kobunsha), annas Animal Embroidery (East Press) and others. Kawabata’s subscription website, annas Monthly Embroidery, is updated each month with embroidery designs. Kawabata also creates embroidered illustrations for advertisements, etc., and produces video embroidery tutorials on YouTube.
