Abstract
To survive in today's highly competitive society, it is necessary to nurture "people" who take on the challenge of innovation (i.e., implementing new actions that can contribute to solving customer problems and creating value) through the power of management, and to foster an "organization (a group of people)" that takes on the challenge of innovation through the system. To achieve this, it is important to "inspire and motivate people rather than manipulate them.
The author has found that mentoring and coaching, which are rooted in human nature from the viewpoint of brain science, are effective in motivating people, and has proven this for himself through his experience of over 30 years working on R&D and business reform at 3M, a company known for its many innovations.
Humans have a nature that works positively and a nature that works negatively toward motivating people to take on the challenge of innovation. The practical method of enhancing organizational and human motivation by strengthening the emergence of the former and inhibiting the emergence of the latter is the "Neuro Management" described in this book.
