Author’s Information
Senior Program Advisor, Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology, University of Tokyo. Involved in the development of numerical forecasting at the Japan Meteorological Agency, contributing to improving the accuracy of typhoon forecasts. After serving as Director of the Tokyo Regional Meteorological Observatory and Director of the Observation Department, he retired in March 2019 as Director of the Meteorological Research Institute. At the Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology, University of Tokyo, he was involved in the launch of ClimCORE (a strategic social co-creation center using regional meteorological data and cutting-edge academic research) as part of JST's COI-NEXT (Co-Creation Space Formation Support Program), and is currently promoting this project.
