Abstract

The survey revealed the actual conditions, values, thoughts, and behavioral characteristics of Japanese companies regarding "work," "working styles," and "lifestyles," as revealed by a questionnaire survey conducted by Nomura Research Institute, a leading think tank in Japan.
The survey also reveals why Japan is lagging in the advancement of women in society, which is progressing worldwide.

What is "Full-Career"?
"Full-Career" is a generic term for workers willing to tackle all aspects of their lives, including living, child-rearing, work, and career. The Nomura Research Institute has proposed this term for workers with new values, thoughts, and behavior characteristics.
