Abstract
The Greek philosopher Aristotle considered the human "brain" to be a cooling system for the mind. This presentation provides an overview of how humans have explored their own "brain" and what is currently known about it.

Kenji Matsumoto is a professor at the Tamagawa University Brain Science Institute. 1996 Completed the doctoral course at the Department of Primatology, Graduate School of Science, Kyoto University. D. in 1996 from the Department of Primatology, Graduate School of Science, Kyoto University. D. in Neuroscience from the University of California, Berkeley, USA, and a postdoctoral fellowship at the RIKEN Brain Science Institute. He specializes in cognitive neuroscience. His research focuses on brain functions that support "human agency" and has been published in Science and Nature Neuroscience (This data was published at the time this book was published.)
