Director of AGE Makita Clinic. Diabetes specialist. Doctor of Medicine. Graduated from Hokkaido University School of Medicine in 1979. Conducted research into AGEs, which are attracting attention as a cause of diabetic complications, for about five years at the Department of Medical Biochemistry at Rockefeller University in New York. In 2003, opened the AGE Makita Clinic in Ginza, Tokyo, for the treatment of lifestyle-related diseases including diabetes and obesity. Published works include "Low Carbohydrate Prepared Meals for Weight Loss" (Shinsei Publishing) and "The Ultimate Diet Textbook Taught by Doctors" (Diamond Publishing).
