Abstract
Trees are familiar in the landscape and are the motif of various paintings in both the leading and supporting roles. Especially in Japan, there are many types, and masterpieces such as "Shorin-zu byobu" have been created, and drawn by many painters as a very familiar subject. In this project, five painters who are currently active will explain how to express this Japanese-friendly tree with ink painting in each drawing method. Also, at the end of the book, we introduce the competition of "Sugi" by five painters.

Rokkendo Fujiwara: Draw the vitality of the trees (old trees struck by thunder, rows of cherry blossom trees, tree roots) .
Kazue Kuyama: Draw a giant tree (Imamiya shrine).
Shin Uchiya: Mountains and trees (Komagatake and Aomori Larch).
Kaichiro Negishi: Snowscape and autumn leaves.
Work Introduction: Maen, Kimiko Yoshimi, Toko Maruyama.
