Abstract
It is a strange origami crane that has been popular since ancient times in Edo, called Renkaku. In this book, we will introduce about 80 kinds of original works of this "Tsunagi Origami Crane" with beautiful color photographs and origami diagrams (development drawings) of all the works. There are various basic cranes, such as traditional paper cranes (ordinary paper cranes) that are folded from square paper that everyone knows, their variants, and cranes that are folded with diamond-shaped or triangular paper. There is a wide variety of crane numbers and structures, from 2 to 40 cranes. If you are new to Renkaku, please start with a simple work of 2 or 4 birds. You will surely be satisfied with the simple yet highly complete modeling. In addition, there are a lot of attractive works that even enthusiasts can understand, such as a combination of deformed cranes that can be folded with various shapes of paper, and a "step crane" that can be folded with stair-shaped paper.
