Abstract
Miniature painting of flowers and plants in transparent watercolour.
Detailed instructions from underdrawing to colouring are given on the subjects of peppers and gerberas. Also introduces how to paint popular roses, daffodils, lilies, wildflowers, fruits and succulents. You can learn from basic techniques such as how to handle painting materials and brushes.
The basis of botanical art is also the correct documentation of plants. There are also pages for learning about the plants themselves, including the names of their organs.
The paints used are 15 colours. By applying several layers of paint, all kinds of colours can be expressed. The key is to distinguish between shades. By painting the shades differently, a three-dimensional effect and texture can be reproduced.
Each example explains when and how many colours are layered, so the content is useful for both watercolour painters and non-watercolour painters.
