Author’s Information

Born in Yamanashi Prefecture in 1921. Graduated from the University of Tokyo, Faculty of Letters. Formerly assistant professor at Tokyo University of Education (linguistics, Scandinavian literature). Major works include "Gairaigo in Japan," Azar's "Books, Children, and Adults," Lagerlöf's "Niels' Mysterious Journey," "The Complete Grimm's Fairy Tales," and Ibsen's "A Doll's House.
